Our story with WhoIsDutyToday (Дежурный smmщик) started in 2020. It’s a Telegram blog about SMM and digital marketing with 45000+ subscribers. I created the visual identity and on-brand assets for that project.
WhoIsDutyToday was facing plagiarism of its posts. The author, Maria, wanted to show herself in the visuals to conquer the stealing of the content by the competitors and to be the media part of her personal brand. In addition, the WhoIsDutyToday needed an eye-catching avatar to grow the audience faster and a visual identity based on it.
We started from the main illustration. After several sketches, we found the image and the colors.
problem
One moment, we came up with floral theme elements and the idea social media be as part of the world as flora. More, we wanted to be different from the competitors. Lacking one detail to complete the puzzle, I added some texture. These brush splashes meant brave and ambitious nature of Maria.
initial steps
After creating a logo, it was time to find the font. We used three variations of MADE Evolve Sans to separate highlights and regular text in the infographics and merch. The idea was to use minimum text because every post had additional text written by Maria. My point was to create high-end visuals. And it went super well! I speeded the growth of the subscribers by 10% and increased the awareness of the brand. More, I produced on-brand stickers downloaded by 2000+ users.
developing
New things are on the way. We continue adding new stickers to a pack and are on the finish line of developing the first-ever notebook for SMM specialists. The visual identity is growing as well as Maria’s blog.
